Otis Gibbs
The Basement is happy to welcome back Otis Gibbs, one of our favourite folk musicians and surely the only person to have played down here with an FBI file.
How can you not love a man who has planted over 7,000 trees, been strip-searched by dirty cops in Detroit and slept in hobo jungles? But that would be trivialising what Otis Gibbs is really all about and that is the quality of his music.
Otis' music comes from the long line of Woody Guthrie-, Bob Dylan- and Jack Elliott-eque rambling folk singers who travel the globe armed only with a guitar and a strong back catalogue of songs about everything. Otis has made his name with several well received anti-war records tackling the involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan some time before anyone else. His most recent though has turned more personal with tales of his own life and those around him.
Be sure you don't miss this great chance to catch this unique musician!
