Please Please You presents So Cow + The Acutes + Missing Kids
It's a perfect joy to listen to the terrifically fun, and high-pitched caterwaul-pop of So Cow. The one-person recording Tuam, Ireland-based act thumps along bringing to mind the innocence, and blush-appeal, of musicians such as Jonathan Richman, Dan Treacy, and Marshall Crenshaw, along with the 50s-kitsch and the pure-pop genius and soul of Buddy Holly.
The Acutes: David Kitchen provides the frolicsome vocals to Matthew Shallcross' country-esque skins. Their music bounds along like Tigger on acid, somewhere finding a musical crossbreed of Dolly Parton and Wayne Coyne - Lo-fi country beats with sprinklings of offbeat guitar.
